Mels Boom: Inspiring ceramic artists since1999

Ruthanne Tudball

Using picture books she learned to throw. Later, she hired a wheel and practiced for two years in a small cellar.

Ruthanne Tudball decorates elegant crockery with the markings of the creative process. These markings have their own personality, enhanced by the use of soda in a kiln fired with gas and wood. The work shows every detail: the impressions in the wet clay, the altering, the finger and hand imprints. These have become an individual vocabulary in Ruthanne’s work.
