Mels Boom: Inspiring ceramic artists since1999

Bernard Thiran

‘I try to make my own marks, that give guidance, but also symbolise the underlying unity of all things.‘

Bernard Thiran plays with surfaces. These are very important within ceramics, but normally the artist uses glazes and slips. Thiran, however, combines other materials with ceramic elements, such as antique bricks, natural stone and marble. With this contrasts in materials he enriches the surface. This results in a decorative whole.
