Mels Boom: Inspiring ceramic artists since1999

Regina Heinz

‘The essence of my work lies in what the American psychologist Hillman said: In our culture it is so difficult to use the word beauty, because it means more and more Elizabeth Arden. We need to show the beauty of surfaces, the feel of it, the sensuality of materials, the grandeur of shapes and proportions.‘

The cushion-shaped sculptures by Regina Heinz draw attention with their colourful, geometrical shapes and natural spontaneity. The weathered look is created by the dark patches caused by just melted grains of lithium carbonate.
