Marianne van den Breeden

The decorations are often slightly ironic, and in that way comment on the piece itself.

Drawing from traditional crockery, Marianne van den Breeden plays with shape and decoration. Her mugs and bowls, which are cast in porcelain, are given a surreal accent because of their unusual decorations. She plays with the nature and shape of her products. For instance, a nest of bowls is decorated with feathers, eggs and twigs.
