Silke Decker

Threads of wool are dipped in porcelain and put over a plaster mould, piece by piece.

Silke Decker makes beautiful constructions from gossamer-thin porcelain. They are so thin that they collapse a little in the kiln, which gives them a unique character: an organic transformation from the constructive. Her pieces take op little room, they only define it. The pieces are almost virtual.
